InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a new Crowne Plaza hotel in New York. IHG will manage the property on behalf of its owners, LRR Holdings, LLC.
“Over the course of 20 years, our company has created a 500,000-square-foot collection of owned and managed multi-tenant commercial space, and we are excited to build our hotel portfolio with IHG,” says Lance Steinberg, managing partner of LRR Holdings.
The 251-room hotel will be situated in Manhattan’s Garment District next to Times Square South and feature an 80-foot glass atrium at the entrance, meeting space, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, and standalone restaurant and bar.
“This is a thriving market for hotel development and among the top destinations in the world for business and leisure travelers,” says Joel Eisemann, IHG’s chief development officer for the Americas. “We are pleased to expand our relationship with LRR Holdings, LLC, to grow the presence of our new and well-established brands in a priority market, creating even more opportunity for us to meet the needs of travelers now and into the future.”
The property is slated to open in 2017.
