Tel Aviv-based Brown Hotels has launched Isla Brown Corinthia on the Saronic Gulf in Greece. The first property in the company’s luxury resorts collection, Isla Brown Corinthia is defined by an organic, ultra-clean aesthetic crafted by Elastic Architects to complement its surroundings.
“After operating a growing collection of boutique, urban hotels for the last 12 years, and following a successful launch into the Greek market, we felt inspired to broaden our horizons and challenge ourselves with the development of a whole new line of full-service design resorts,” says Brown Hotels founder Leon Avigad. “The beauty of Isla Brown Corinthia is in its proximity to Athens, making it a perfect coastal destination for both local holidaymakers and international travelers for vacations or events.”
Isla Brown Corinthia emerges on the coastline as an extension of the landscape, drawing inspiration from the northern Aegean volcanic arc and the Greek myth of the Giant Typhoeus, who resided beneath the craterless Sousaki volcano. Marrying the earth with the sky, the contemporary concept features clean, smooth lines reminiscent of stacked pebbles. A motif of soft sinewy lines permeates the interior as well, where an earthy color palette of stone, white, and brown is showcased alongside bronze detailing and tinted mirrored walls.
Among the resort’s F&B options are an intimate bar housed within a cave and a traditional Mediterranean taverna. The spacious, adults-only rooftop is home to an open-air bar, as well as a small pool, sun loungers, Jacuzzis, and fire pits. Other amenities include the main swimming pool, a wellness center, an events space, and a private beach.
Four configurations and two suite varieties span the property’s 166 guestrooms and suites, all of which are equipped with expansive balconies overlooking the scenery. Isla Brown Corinthia’s footprint is set to expand next year with the launch of a 110-bungalow complex, which will boast its own swimming pool and restaurant as well.
“Isla Brown Corinthia marks the inaugural design resort by Brown Hotels, with additional “Isla” branded resorts in Crete and Corfu in the pipeline for 2023—it’s a very exciting time indeed for the group, as we make the transition into the luxury market,” adds Avigad.
