Denihan Hospitality Group is preparing for the debut of the James West Hollywood – Sunset, the first new-build hotel in the Los Angeles neighborhood in nearly 30 years. The 10-floor property, the luxury brand’s first on the West Coast, is located at La Cienega on the Sunset Strip.
Designed by SOM, the upcoming hotel will honor its natural surroundings with a soft palette and colors and textured materials influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the landscape of the Hollywood Hills and the San Gabriel Mountains.
Two Penthouse loft suites, two Bungalow suites, 18 loft suites, and 13 one-bedroom suites will be included among the 286 guestrooms, luxuriating in natural views. Walnut and white oak armoires and bathroom vanities will contrast natural green and ocean blue hues while also harmonizing with the urban tones of patina brass and blackened metal accents, and nuanced woodwork on the modern furniture will help to create a comfortable, residential atmosphere.
The tech-forward Great and Overlook rooms will be featured among the hotel’s more than 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, both including large windows and geometric lighting. Also featured is a main pool deck including custom wood cabanas with decorative rope canopies along with other modern furnishings.
