Kimpton has announced the launch of a new luxury boutique hotel in Tampa, its seventh location in Florida and second on the Gulf Coast. Located in the city’s Westshore neighborhood, the new-build will be designed as a modern town square for the community, influenced by classic Italian piazzas.
Tampa-based architect Alberto Alfonso will design the five-story property, which will house 150 guestrooms and suites. In addition to 4,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, a lobby bar, a fitness center, a pool, and a rooftop bar will also be included.
The hotel will also introduce the first U.S. outpost for chef Silvia Baracchi, who gained notoriety for her Michelin-starred Tuscany restaurant Il Falconiere. The intimate, dinner-only eatery will feature locally sourced cuisine and a vertical garden showpiece. A second all-day dining restaurant will feature a bakery. Both dining options will host live music and performance art.
Owned by Tampa-based developer Giunta Group, the property is slated for an early 2018 debut.
