Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has announced plans to launch its first San Jose, California property at Museum Place, a mixed-use development that will also expand the Tech Museum of Innovation.
The Steinberg-designed hotel is slated to arrive in 2021 with 173 guestrooms, 300 residential units, retail, restaurants, and will increase the size of the Tech Museum by 54,000 square feet. In addition, the hotel will house an estimated 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, a fast-casual café, a sixth-floor bar, and an outdoor pool and fitness center. The hotel will accommodate 250,000 square feet of creative and open office space.
Steinberg’s design will seek to improve an existing pedestrian promenade that connects Park Avenue with the San Jose Convention Center and the VTA Light Rail station.
