Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas Paradise Valley has emerged in Scottsdale, following a $42 million reimagining of the former Scottsdale Plaza Resort by Trinity Investments and Partners Group.
The 40-acre destination (Kimpton’s second Arizona property and one of the brand’s largest resorts to date) is defined by a relaxed, residential-style take on desert luxury and rooted in the Sonoran landscape.
Phase one of the opening includes 224 redesigned guestrooms and 36 casitas. The full 404-key resort, complete with villas and residences, is set to be completed later this year.
Kimpton Miralina also features chef-driven dining, a sensory-led wellness program, six pools, and more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
A desert-inspired design
The transformation was led by international design studio Saguez & Dash, whose concept emphasizes fluid indoor-outdoor connections and material expressions drawn from the desert’s colors, textures, and light. Public spaces are oriented to frame views of the surrounding mountains, organically flowing from arrival through the lobby and into gardens and pool areas.
Anchoring the lobby experience is The Loom, a monumental textile installation by artist Mariella Motilla that weaves through the lobby, bar, and restaurant, reflecting the contours and tonal shifts of Paradise Valley. Outdoors, indigenous plantings shape intimate garden rooms and gathering areas throughout the property.
Guestrooms and casitas draw from a Sonoran palette, featuring gradient wallcoverings inspired by desert skies; custom furnishings with soft, sculptural forms; and layered natural materials. Accommodations range from king rooms to one-bedroom casitas with separate living areas and wet bars.
Throughout the grounds, immersive installations known as Desert Reveries encourage mindfulness and sensory engagement. Highlights include sound-based wind chimes, cooling mist pathways, and sculptural oculus structures designed for stargazing and reflection.
Amenities at Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas
The resort’s culinary program is led by Hecho Libre, a new restaurant from James Beard Award finalist chef Wes Avila. Wellness, meanwhile, is anchored by Spa Miralina, which includes five treatment rooms, poolside massage pavilions, sauna, cold plunge, salon services, and a fitness pavilion connected to an outdoor movement terrace.
Miralina also introduces expanded event offerings, including the glass-enclosed Horizon Pavilion, along with meeting rooms, lawns, and terraces that open directly to the desert landscape.
