A 17-story Kimpton hotel is coming to Charlotte, North Carolina thanks to a deal by Spectrum Properties and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, one of the world’s largest real estate investment managers, representing an institutional client. The hotel complements the arrival of another local development, the 25-story office building 300 South Tryon.
With architecture by Atlanta-based Cooper Carry, the 217-room hotel will stand on the corner of Third and Church Streets in the northern region of the city. The property will include 9,200 square feet of meeting space with a 4,000-square-foot ballroom. A signature 180-seat restaurant will also be featured as well as a semi-open air rooftop lounge designed by the Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry. The 7,500-square-foot, 160-seat lounge will offer views of BB&T Ballpark, Romare Bearden Park, and the Charlotte skyline. Interior design by Marina Del Rey, California-based firm Intra-Spec includes guestrooms defined by touches of high-end décor.
The project is scheduled for completion in October 2017.
