The former Blackstone Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska is set to undergo a rebranding to join the Kimpton Hotels portfolio. Slated to reopen in spring 2020, the property will be named as the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, which pays homage to the cottonwood tree rising from the center of the building’s expansive, circular bar.
Home to 205 guestrooms, including 15 suites, the eight-story hotel will receive a $75 million facelift by both LEO A DALY and DLR Group to restore its original details. Amenities will include a signature steakhouse and lounge, a French-style café, a swimming pool, solarium, and more than 13,500 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting space.
The site was declared an Omaha Landmark in 1983 and was listed to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
