Villa Vellamo, the newest addition at the Lehmonkärki Resort in Asikkala, Finland has debuted. Helsinki-based DSign Vertti Kivi & Co. has designed the versatile new accommodation, which is flexible enough to host conferences and weddings as well as guest stays. Lighting and wall structures were instrumental in establishing the interiors’ diverse design language of the interior.

“Our company DSign Vertti Kivi & Co is known for paying special attention to mood creation. In Villa Vellamo Resort you find a long entrance hall that needed both light and decoration,” the firm says in a statement. “To give a strong first impression to the space we decided to use wall-mounted lamps, which work as welcoming torches when customers walk along the hall into the festive main room.”
Set against the backdrop of Lake Päijänne, the modern and upscale setting presents a striking juxtaposition of both worlds. The wood-paneled presidential villa houses a kitchen, dining areas, living rooms, and saunas, and is also connected to private beaches and piers, and offers furnished terraces, a fireplace, and whirlpool bath.
