Life House is set to launch its latest property, Life House, South of Fifth, in Miami next month. Developed with today’s traveler in mind, the project overhauls a 1930s Tudor-style manor in the southernmost tip of South Beach. “Our South of Fifth house is an artisan’s eclectic retreat by the shore, with a musing for the swell of the sea,” says Life House CEO and founder Rami Zeidan, who collaborated with the company’s in-house team on the design of the property. “We intend to celebrate the architecture of the landmark building while optimizing all spaces for the modern traveler, who can spend the week working comfortably from their rooms or public spaces and then run to the beach as soon as that Zoom call ends.”
Life House, South of Fifth boasts a unique curb appeal with a stucco façade, dark wood accents, a pitched gabled roof, and half-timbered frames reminiscent of a cottage. Social hubs like an open-air garden lounge will anchor the property along with an adjoining garden patio and an indoor living room that naturally extends toward the outdoor courtyard.
Onsite restaurant and bar Pretty Swell will evoke the laidback vibes of South Beach as well. Beachy elements—like a reclaimed wood surfboard, cane and wicker pendants, and a live-edge wood table—will be juxtaposed with refined details, including original terrazzo floors and high-gloss teal ceilings. A modern color palette of sienna, golden amber, and deep jade will instill artful balance.
A range of configurations will span each of the 26 guestrooms, including queen, king, and modern quad chambers equipped with four custom full-size bunkbeds ideal for groups. A trop of specialty suites will be featured as well. The Artist’s King suite will comprise an extended living room area, the Family suite will be populated by a king bed, and the Writer’s Studio will boast a curated collection of literature in addition to a spacious desk and cozy reading nook. Two-tone shiplap walls in cream hues will distinguish all room in tandem with neutral color-blocked cotton rugs and jute lampshades.
