Mama Shelter has announced plans to expand into Serbia with the launch of Mama Shelter Belgrade in early 2018. Located along the iconic pedestrian thoroughfare of Prince Michael Street, the 125-room property will be designed by architect Jalil Amor.
Punctuated with striking and unique elements, the décor will pay homage to the Ottoman legacy of the capital city with richly woven kilim rugs and a palette of matte colors, vintage prints, and welcoming sofas that revamp the Eastern bloc aesthetic. The hotel will also be crowned with a 5,000-square-foot terrace overlooking that White City’s ancient citadel and concrete towers. The large onsite restaurant will accommodate guests with long dining tables to promote interaction, while a lounge area will aim to attract travelers and locals alike.
Mama Shelter Belgrade will launch alongside Mama Shelter Prague, which is set for an early 2018 debut.
