The latest jewel in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group crown has debuted on the shores of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Home to 100 spacious upscale guestrooms and suites, the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul is complete with organic textures and patterns paired with metal and leather details that pay homage to Istanbul’s rich history and colorful present.
“The hotel is a contemporary ode to the city and its unique position in the world,” says Alessia Genova, managing partner at New York- and Rome-based studio Tihany Design, which handled the hotel’s interior design. “The atmosphere is modern infused with contemporary Ottoman design and flavors of Turkish style.”
Decorative bronze metal screens, inspired by weaving traditions, appear throughout the property’s public spaces, while a small reception lounge enclosed by metal and glass screens is linked to an intimate outdoor patio and reading room.
Glamorous F&B options include renowned Novikov concepts like the signature Novikov restaurant, the Novikov Lounge Bar, and the Novikov Pool Bar set in a garden oasis. The vibrant Bosphorus Lounge is also featured onsite.
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus provides a slew of wellness services across luxe treatment rooms, hammams, private relaxation areas, a fitness center, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. An outdoor Zen garden also promotes holistic care on the spa level, lined with Ottoman-inspired archways that instill rhythmic calm. Three ballrooms, a garden and pool terrace, and meeting facilities round out the onsite amenities.
Highlights among the accommodations include the sprawling presidential suite. Bold shapes and patterns characterize the space, which comprises intimate pockets accented with striking quartzite and marble, as well as intricate wooden doorways. A fireplace lounge, living room, and expansive deck are also featured. The rooftop suites are adorned with decorative stone wall panels, while shades of lavender and magenta accent mirrored bronze, metal mesh, and sparkling finishes characterize the bridal suite.
