Mandarin Oriental opens the doors to its third property in Switzerland with the launch of Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich.
The handiwork of Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer, the hotel features 44 rooms and 36 suites crafted primarily in walnut wood with touches of bronze, brass, and enameled lava stone. Custom furniture and carpets punctuate the spaces with accents of color, creating a chic, contemporary design that mirrors the surrounding Paradeplatz square and Zurich’s art scene.
Meticulously crafted design elements and materials adorn the rooms, including hand-painted silk wallpapers in dark green and blue hues that evoke the sky and reflections on a lake.
Deep greens mirror the surrounding mountain forests in the hotel’s five signature suites. The ambiance, however, switches up in the presidential suite, where brown, tobacco, and amber tones create a sense of warmth and luxury. Rich brown tones evolve into a deep red in the dining room, while the bedroom is sheathed in a golden palette for a touch of glamour.
