As Mohegan Sun nears the completion of its $130 million, 400-guestroom Earth Tower this fall, the Uncasville, Connecticut resort and casino has announced plans to embark on a two-year renovation of its 1,200-room Sky Tower, which originally debuted in 2002.
The $50 million revamp will entail a refresh for each standard and junior suite guestroom, complete with new carpeting, wallcoverings, casegoods, and fabrics. Public spaces such as corridors and the lobby will also be updated with new furniture. The property’s onsite spa will also undergo a rebranding, thanks to a partnership with spa concept brand Steiner Leisure Limited, which will launch a Mandara Spa in two separate locations within the property. The current 22,000-square-foot Elemis Spa in the Sky Tower will be transformed into a Mandara Spa by 2017, and a location will also open this fall in the Earth Tower.
The Shops at Mohegan Sun has also announced new retail and dining additions for the fall, as well as new games for the resort’s Casino of the Sky.
