Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its global portfolio with 11 new openings in nine countries this year. With 83 outposts across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Mövenpick will arrive in five new countries this year, including Bangladesh, Iraq, Kenya, Malaysia, and the Maldives.
In the coming months, Mövenpick will launch its seventh Thai property with the family-oriented, Leo International Design Group-designed Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin. The forthcoming Mövenpick Hotel du Lac Tunis will be the company’s third hotel in Tunisia when it debuts along the banks of the Lac de Tunis with a design from SHD Design, while the Mövenpick Hotel & Residence Nairobi will mark the brand’s arrival in Kenya. Mövenpick will launch in the Maldives with the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Kuredhivaru, which will feature 105 units—including 72 overwater villas—and designs from Polish design practice MOTIV. Also slated to join the portfolio is the Mövenpick Hotel Basra in Iraq, the Hijjas Kasturi Associates-designed Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Center KLIA, and the Bangladeshi Mövenpick Hotel Sylhet, which will be crafted by Design Lab Architects.
The openings of the Mövenpick Hotel Apartments Downtown Dubai—also crafted by SHD Design—and the Mövenpick hotel at Dubai Media City will further expand the brand’s footprint in the UAE, while the Mövenpick Resort El Ein Bay will become the second property in the coastal Egyptian region of El Sohna.
