Marriott International’s experiential brand Moxy Hotels has launched its first London hotel with the Moxy London Excel. The 164-room hotel in the city’s East End joins a growing global portfolio that comprises eight destinations including in Berlin, Milan, Munich, and New Orleans.
This is on par with Marriott’s European expansion plans: Moxy is currently maintaining a pipeline of 18,000 guestrooms slated to launch over the next three years in major cities including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Oslo, and Vienna.
Featuring raw, refined materials and organic and linear lines, the arrival experience is open and vivacious. Punctuated with modern furniture, Moxy’s cozy and contemporary living room will feature sealed concrete floors, ambient lighting, and walls adorned with artful beer jugs that reference local culture.
Ranging from standard to family size, guestrooms feature sound-reducing walls, deep-seated armchairs, and calming neutral fabrics. Functional and uncluttered, guestrooms include glass shelving and an open storage concept that involves a flexible peg wall in lieu of a closet. Bathrooms are equipped with power showers and large mirrors and vanities. Public amenities include a 24-hour F&B concept and a sundrenched meeting room.
