The Mövenpick Hotel Colombo has debuted in the Sri Lankan capital as the city’s first new 5-Star property in 25 years. Spanning 24 floors, the diamond-shaped exterior is accented with organic hanging gardens that accommodate nearly 14,310 plants.
Designed by Warwick, Rhode Island-based firm DiLeonardo International, the 219 guestrooms and suites are outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize urban views. Rooms include access to the rooftop infinity pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel also houses the largest executive lounge and meeting rooms in the city, and includes a dedicated business traveler reception, banquet facilities, five meeting rooms, and a boardroom. The fully equipped fitness center is situated 328 feet above ground.
Seven onsite bar and restaurant concepts include the Brasserie, Colombo’s first in-hotel French eatery; Japanese concept Robata Grill & Lounge; all-day venue AYU; Vistas Rooftop Bar & Lounge; the Mansion bar and nightclub; the chic lobby lounge; and the pool bar.
