Meliá Hotels International’s all-inclusive brand, Paradisus by Meliá, has revealed plans to develop a new food hall concept at its Paradisus Cancun location to debut later this year. Following a $1.2 million overhaul, the Malva Food Bazar will make its entrance as the eighth restaurant at the resort, as well as the first of many that will join the Paradisus portfolio in 2020.
Crafted by Spanish designer Alvaro Sans, the 19,353-square-foot casual gastronomic concept will reflect the influence of local culture while promoting engagement with details like communal tables and a central open kitchen. Textiles and vertical elements will further unify the space and establish uniformity across its diverse offerings. Vibrant tones reminiscent of local flora will contrast warm wood elements beneath the low lighting. In addition to its many offerings, kiosks and a private dining area will also populate the food hall to retail local produce.
