Pendry Hotels has announced the launch of the Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, the brand’s first East Coast hotel. The property, planned in collaboration with Sagamore Development Company, the development enterprise of Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank, will be located on the iconic Recreation Pier in the city’s central Fells Point waterfront neighborhood. Plank’s brother Scott, through his development firm War Horse, will also partner on the project.
New York-based firm BHC Architects will design the project, with interiors by locally based studio Patrick Sutton Design. Honoring the property’s history, 128 guestrooms and public spaces will be infused with nods to Baltimore’s heritage and spirited hustle.
The hotel will offer abundant onsite dining including a restaurant, a whiskey bar, and an outdoor pool deck with a bar and grill on the edge of the pier. Among the property’s 10,000 square feet of event and meeting space is the restored grand ballroom. A signature Botero horse sculpture, the standout of the hotel’s elegant art collection, will serve as the centerpiece of the courtyard.
The Sagamore Pendry Baltimore will arrive in early 2017.
