Red Lion Hotels Corporation (RLHC) reported a record number of new hotel openings and franchise agreements in 2016. This reflects the combined efforts of RLHC and Vantage for the full calendar year and resulted in 68 hotels opened and 87 franchise license agreements signed. The deals span 10 brands, 30 states, four Canadian provinces, and Asia.
North American markets celebrated openings in: Boise, Idaho; Fargo, North Dakota; Houston; Indianapolis, Indiana; Jacksonville, Florida; Little Rock, Arkansas; Memphis, Tennessee; Miami Beach; Sacramento, California; Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Washington; Alberta, Calgary. RLHC reported the most openings in Texas with 11, followed by six in California, and four each in in Georgia and Mississippi.
Some of the most notable additions to the brand portfolio include Red Lion properties in Brooklyn, New York; Houston; and Omaha, Nebraska. Properties that also debuted last year include: the 231-room Red Lion Hotel & Conference Center in Billings, Montana; the brand’s maiden GuestHouse location in Georgia; and the 342-room Value Hotel Worldwide in Gangneung, South Korea.
