Renovations at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach will be complete in late 2019, following several years of updates led by HBA’s Miami office and New York-based Meg Sharpe Interiors. The refresh of the vibrant landmark property channels the alluring tropical rhythm of Miami while honoring its Art Deco roots.
Drawing inspiration from the city’s heritage as a sprawling botanical destination, the redesign embraces a color palette that recalls sparkling blue waters, orange blossoms, golden rum, and brown hues of cigars. Herringbone floors will span the interior to accent crisp molding and distinctive, oversized furniture like colorful plush headboards. Emphasized as a key social hub, the revamped multilevel lobby will include an original chrome light wall as its centerpiece. A medley of rich bronze and brass details will also define public spaces, including the bar, which references Miami’s historic role during Prohibition. The signature restaurant will also be upgraded with polished nickel, blackened steel, and communal seating.
