ROOST Apartment Hotel has revealed plans to add a new location as part of the 56-acre neighborhood Water Street Tampa. Slated to open in spring 2022 within the Asher apartment tower, the hotel, from Philadelphia-based hospitality company Method Co., will be designed by Morris Adjmi Architects with a nod to local industrial history—complete with oversized divided-light windows that will flood interiors with natural light.
“Inside and out, the design reflects an intent to introduce a contemporary, urban style of living to Tampa. The building’s exterior is an unmistakable nod to Tampa’s industrial history, but within, the interior design softens, drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of Latin America that is prevalent throughout the city’s established neighborhoods,” says Morris Adjmi, founder and principal of Morris Adjmi Architects. “The objective was to create something from scratch but with a compelling sense of place.”
Natural, ageless materials like American oak, concrete, terrazzo, walnut, stone, brass, and venetian plaster will adorn ROOST Tampa in mix of textures and tones. The property will feature amenities like Water Street Tamp’s largest pooldeck and a dynamic rooftop space lined with cabanas, outdoor kitchens, an indoor-outdoor bar, and an entertainment lawn. Inside, an expansive amenities suite will comprise a fitness center, entertainment space, screening lounge, and a coworking space equipped with private conference rooms.
Luxury rentals will occupy the top 15 floors of Asher, while ROOST Tampa will be housed across the lower six floors. A total 97 studio, one-, and two-bedroom accommodations will be available for longer-term guests in addition to select co-living units. Contemporary appliances and a functional layout will characterize the suites, which will also boast bathrooms lined with porcelain floor tiles in rhomboid patterns as well.
