In partnership with Duddingston House Properties (DHP) and Urbanist Hotels, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will open its fourth European property, Rosewood Edinburgh in Scotland.
To open in 2018, the hotel will be repurposed from the former Royal High School—a centrally located neoclassical structure that was designed by Scottish architect Thomas Hamilton and completed in 1829. Following 50 years of vacancy, the building will be now be renovated by Scottish architect Gareth Hoskins.
“The former Royal High School is an Edinburgh landmark, and we will be drawing on our experience with historic properties—such as the Carlyle, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, and Hôtel de Crillon—to ensure the heritage and history of this building is preserved and celebrated,” says Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
The 147-room hotel will feature a spa, fitness center, indoor pool, three F&B outlets, and a 3,200-square-foot ballroom.
