Rosewood has announced its expansion in Cambodia with the Rosewood Phnom Penh. Located in the central cultural and business district, the hotel is housed within the 39-story Vattanac Capital Tower, the tallest building in the Cambodian capital. The property is Rosewood’s first urban outpost in the Southeast Asia market.
Fusing the classic and the contemporary, Melbourne-based design practice Bar Studio oversaw the development of the hotel’s luxe style, while also maintaining respect for the spirit of the locale. Elements of Khmer architecture are featured alongside details reminiscent of the country’s French colonial heritage and native craft techniques. The hotel’s 175 residential-style guestrooms—37 of which are suites—are outfitted with large, window-facing tables that double as work or dining spaces. Accommodations range from 540 to 2,420 square feet.
The hotel features four onsite restaurants, including the all-day concept the Living room; the Japanese eatery Sora, which crowns the hotel on a cantilevered terrace; Brasserie Louis on the 35th floor with floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows that offers panoramic views; and izakaya-style restaurant Iza crated by Tokyo-based Bond Design Studio, which also crafted Sora.
