The Royal Mansour Marrakech in Morocco will expand its footprint by nearly two acres this fall with the addition of a new garden in the hotel’s medina by the original landscape architect, Madrid-based Luis Vallejo Landscape Studio.
The property’s entry gate will also be reoriented to accommodate poolside and garden dining at a new restaurant led by chef Yannick Alleno, while the new garden will reference a variety of Moroccan design traditions including a grid of olive trees and expansive date palms that honor the local surroundings. The lawn will be outfitted with a geometric network of paths adorned with ponds and streams that call to mind ancient irrigation systems.
A large swimming pool will feature seven cabanas in the greenery surrounding the sundeck, including a new Kids pavilion, an extension of the existing Kid’s Club.
The Royal Mansour Marrakech opened in 2010, and houses a 27,000-square-foot spa and artwork from roughly 80 artists from around the country. The property comprises 53 three-story riads that feature central, open courtyards, roof terraces, and private plunge pools.
