Situated on the perimeter of Yosemite National Park, Rush Creek Lodge in Groveland, California has unveiled its newly completed Rush Creek Spa. The 5,000-square-foot facility was crafted by San Francisco-based designer Anthony Laurino to evoke the natural wonder of Yosemite and appeal to all senses through an array of wellness amenities, including warm waterfall coves, aromatherapy steam rooms, a Himalayan salt block sauna, cool mist showers, and the sensory room.
The intimate spa is conceived in a sophisticated, circular layout to establish an organic flow between indoor and outdoor environments. Natural finishes infuse the spa with neutral tones reminiscent of the nearby park, while cedar and Douglas fir wrap the exterior. Rift-sawn white oak layers the interior with texture, while creating a soft backdrop for dramatic elements like boulders sourced from a local quarry.
Lined with heated floors to support use throughout the year, the spa’s sheltered outdoor lounge is outfitted with a granite waterfall hot tub, suspended daybeds, a boulder fountain, and a range of comfortable seating options that overlook a forested skyline view.
