One of Seattle’s landmark hotels will celebrate its grand reopening this fall. Hotel Theodore, located on 7th Avenue and Pine Street, will open its doors again thanks to Provenance Hotels, the brand that opened the No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery in New Orleans last year. The property, designed by locally based Susan Marinello Interiors is located within walking distance of the Washington State Convention Center, Capitol Hill, and the city’s famous Pike Place Market.
Although the 151-room hotel will return with a new name, it will still honor its original namesake, former president Theodore Roosevelt. Originally constructed in 1929 as the Roosevelt Hotel, the building’s conception and design were achieved by local artisans and suppliers. Hotel Theodore will continue to reflect the principles of the Trust Buster by establishing new partnerships with Seattle artists, tastemakers, and entrepreneurs—placing an emphasis on civic pride.
“Our goal is to connect guests of Hotel Theodore with Seattle’s unique heritage at the frontier of the nation and the forefront of innovation while highlighting the Seattle makers and visionaries that are forging the future of our increasingly global world,” says Bashar Wali, president of Provenance Hotels.
The hotel will still bear its iconic Roosevelt sign and 21-story exterior when it reopens. An airy layout will maximize views of the city and Puget Sound and natural materials will perpetuate contemporary tones of blue, camel, and navy.
Additional amenities include a second-floor gym and 2,415 square feet of reception and meeting space. F&B offerings are yet to be announced.
