The River’s Edge Hotel & Spa in Portland, Oregon has announced a $3-million refresh, its first since debuting in the late 1990s. Local firm SERA Architects has been tapped to revamp the 99 guestrooms and overhaul the lobby.
“River’s Edge is nestled in a calm, tree-lined stretch of the Willamette,” says SERA’s director of hospitality Lisa Zangerle. “We’re taking cues from this waterfront locale to reimagine the property as an urban resort with bold colors, timeless textures, and a luxe feel throughout.”
The firm’s design will convey a Scandinavian sensibility with the infusion of clean, bright themes in the furniture, textiles, and understated décor. New York-based F&B consultancy APICII will also join the project to assist in rebranding the hotel’s onsite restaurant.
River’s Edge will remain open during the renovation, which will kick off by the end of this year and wrap by April 2017.
