The Los Angeles-based Laurus Corporation has completed a $5 million revamp of the Sheraton College Park North Hotel, located approximately nine miles away from Washington, DC.
“With Laurus’ recent repositioning of the Sheraton College Park North Hotel, the property has significant potential to increase its current market share and re-establish itself as a leader among its competitive set,” says Andres Szita, chairman of Laurus Corporation.
The 207-room, nine-story hotel is located near the area’s major regional airports, the new FDA headquarters, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, the University of Maryland at College Park, Fort Meade, and the National Security Agency (NSA).
During the project, all guestrooms and baths were renovated, along with the club lounge, fitness center, outdoor pool and sundeck, concierge lounge, porte-cochere, landscaping, and exterior signage.
Also remodeled was the signature, 60-seat Asado Brasserie restaurant, which now features a marble and copper bar juxtaposed with a vintage-inspired map of the area.
Additional amenities include 5,410 square feet of meeting and event space and a 3,610-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate more than 250 guests.
