Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has revealed plans to launch a property on Zimbabwe’s Princess Elizabeth Island—marking its first project in Sub-Saharan Africa. The partially concealed Six Senses Victoria Falls will embrace one of the world’s largest waterfalls as its backdrop and maintain an authentic connection to the natural splendor and wildlife of its setting. Interiors helmed by DSGN will radiate authenticity through a materiality of timber floors and natural finishes and the addition of ceremonial and bespoke artwork and furnishings.
Slated to open in 2025, the forthcoming game reserve and wellness resort will comprise a modular scheme of stilted wooden structures crafted to evoke a light, weightless appearance. Raised walkways and bridges will connect all onsite facilities, including public spaces like an elevated restaurant and lounge, specialty dining and braai bar, and a sunset lookout bar.
The Six Senses Spa and wellness area will be home to four treatment rooms, a gym, yoga deck, panoramic sauna, outdoor hot pools, and an integrated retail space.
Each of the resort’s 22 lodges will be equipped with private terraces, while 15 deluxe lodges will feature suspended pools. A total of 17 individual pool villas are also slated to join the guestroom lineup, designed to effortlessly blur indoor and outdoor living.
