To coincide with Langham Hospitality Group’s 20th anniversary, the company has announced the launch of its newest brand, Ying’nFlo. The upper midscale brand is distinguished by a sociable lifestyle approach that targets millennial and Gen Z travelers. The first Ying’nFlo location is now open in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai district, while a second outpost is slated for development in Xiamen.
“Ying’nFlo is a bold, colorful canvas for younger urban travelers at an affordable price—it’s a smart guest experience for a generation that has grown up with digital,” says Langham CEO Brett Butcher. “The concept combines simple, stylish design with brilliant basics, which are efficiently executed with a strong social vibe. We will locate Ying’nFlo in destinations where our guests want to travel. These locations would be the front door to cultural, entertainment, and tech hub districts.”
Crafted akin to a friend’s apartment, Ying’nFlo aims to maximize flexibility and instill openness. In the Linehouse-designed Hong Kong hotel, light interiors are complemented by timber ceilings, terracotta brick floors, and colorful patterned tiles illuminated by soft natural lighting.
Among the brand’s signatures is an emphasis on technology and art. The Hong Kong unit, for instance, is animated by a colorful outdoor mural by Berlin artist Josephine Rais. A smartphone app also equips guests with controls to their rooms, including TV, lighting, and air conditioning.
“There is a strong opportunity to grow Ying’nFlo in Asia-Pacific and beyond where 50 percent of the population are millennials or Gen Zers,” Butcher adds.
