The collaborative workspace and social club concept Spring Place has opened its first West Coast branch in Beverly Hills, California. Spring Place Beverly Hills juxtaposes the ethos of its Brutalist New York flagship with a breezy, midcentury elegance courtesy of Los Angeles-based wHY Architecture. Originally designed by Tel Aviv-based firm Belzberg Architects, the new, 40,000-square-foot outpost blends vintage and contemporary décor alongside custom furniture crafted by wHY’s in-house Objects studio.
“Our idea for Spring Place in Beverly Hills was to fuse the best of East and West Coast designs with a global sense of place. We wanted the experience to be full of lush plants and exquisite materials in a fresh indoor-outdoor atmosphere,” says wHY’s founding partner and creative director Kulapat Yantrasast. “I wanted the approach to be eclectic, fun, and personal; gathering inspiration and whim from lots of different sources, just in the way you might form your own personal collection over a fun lifetime.”
Onsite amenities include private offices, open hot desks, and a restaurant anchored by a large olive tree that provides ample shade. Phone booths, a showroom space, and lounge are also featured, while a 6,500-square-foot roof space caps the facility.
