Starwood has announced the development of its first Armenian property, the Alexander, in Yerevan. The Luxury Collection hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2017 near the city’s Republic Square.
UK-based designer Alexander James will craft the interiors of the 114-room new-build, which includes 18 rsuites. The hotel’s extensive meeting and event spaces will comprise a ballroom, business center, and eight meeting rooms. A fitness center, spa, and indoor pool will be among some of the onsite wellness amenities alongside a lobby bar, cigar club, and restaurant.
Starwood currently operates nine hotels in the Commonwealth of Independent States across five of its brands. Five additional properties are slated to open in the region by the end of 2018.
