Starwood’s eco-conscious Element brand is slated to double its North American footprint over the next three years, with another 22 hotels planned in the U.S. and Canada by 2018.
“Sustainability is no longer optional; it’s become a requirement among a growing number of travelers worldwide,” says Brian McGuinness, global brand leader of specialty select brands for Starwood. “Element Hotels is experiencing unprecedented growth momentum throughout North America, as well as in a number of key global markets.”
Element has opened properties in six cities in the U.S. and Canada over the last 12 months, and the Element Calgary Airport in Canada is expected to debut in September. Projects slated for opening in 2017 include the Element Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, Arizona; the Element Dallas Love Field; the Element Huntsville in Alabama; the Element Moline in Illinois; the Element Redmond in Washington State; and the Element Austin Downtown. 2018 will see the launch of locations in Palmdale, California; Fort Lauderdale; Philadelphia; Nashville; San Antonio, Dallas, and Katy, Texas; Syracuse and Spring Valley, New York; and Charleston.
Element is also expected to debut in London and Tanzania in 2017 along with seven new properties in China, Canada, and the Middle East.
