International architecture firm Goettsch Partners has completed work on the mixed-use R&F Yingkai Square tower in Guangzhou, China. Measuring more than 970 feet in height, the nearly two million-square-foot tower is the seventh tallest in the city, accommodating 1.2 million square feet of office space and more than 100,000 square feet of retail. The tower features a bamboo-inspired design with asymmetrical curvature and veined vertical strips on the exterior, which compress and stretch as the tower ascends to create a visual sense of gravity.
The 66-story tower’s uppermost floors also house the 208-key Park Hyatt Guangzhou hotel. Featuring interiors from Tokyo-based design firm Super Potato, the hotel welcomes guests with a warm and neutral palette accented by sculptures. A 60th-floor infinity-edge pool spans the length of one side of the building, offering panoramic views of the city skyline. Similar views can also be enjoyed from the signature outdoor rooftop garden and dining venue on the 70th floor.
The hotel is one of 11 Hyatt-brand properties completed by Goettsch Partners, including three within the last eight months.
