Aparium Hotel Group has announced the addition of the Surety Hotel to its portfolio in spring 2020. Located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, the 12-story boutique concept will feature a collaborative design from Omaha-based design practice DLR Group, and local firm, Slingshot Architecture.
Home to 138 spacious accommodations crafted in an authentic and comfortable style, the new hotel will be housed within a revived Beaux-Arts Classicism-style architectural gem that was built for the Iowa Loan & Trust Company in 1913. Featuring an interior design that aim to illustrate the legacy of the structure while readying it for a bright future, the concept will be completed with a flagship restaurant and bar, Mulberry Street Tavern on its ground floor, while a ballroom and private outdoor courtyard will serve as additional social hubs.
