The Duke Hotel Newport Beach has announced plans to undergo an $18.5 million renovation and rebranding to become the Renaissance Newport Beach beginning in early 2018. Crescent Hotels & Resorts will serve as the property’s new manager, acquiring the 10-story property for $125 million.
Previously the Fairmont Newport Beach, the upscale hotel is situated adjacent to the John Wayne Airport, Orange County. Spanning 444 guestrooms including 54 suites, the hotel also features a rooftop pool with cabanas, an 8,000-square-foot spa, bocce and tennis courts, a fitness center, wedding gazebo, and restaurant and bar. The hotel’s 42,000 square feet of meeting space also boasts a 27,000 square feet of outdoor function area.
