Vision Hospitality Group has announced plans to inaugurate its newest property, the Grady Hotel, this spring in the downtown Market District of Louisville, Kentucky. Housed within a historic 19th-century landmark, the 52-key luxury concept will feature handsome interiors revamped by Atlanta-based Sims Patrick Studio to honor tradition and redefine modern opulence. “The inspiration for the historic interior spaces of the Grady have a vintage elegance with a twist of modern that stems from the spirit of the Louisville Southern Exposition,” says Sims Patrick Studio CEO Libby Patrick.
The elegant hotel warmly greets visitors with a range of patinaed metals paired with smooth, dark textures inspired by the local bourbon heritage. Local artwork punctuates the lobby and lounge along with a striking entry chandelier influenced by Thomas Edison’s 1,000 lightbulb installation completed in 1883—the same year construction was originally completed on the property. The Wild Swann, the Grady’s cocktail bar, exudes a rustic Southern elegance and pays homage to the city’s legacy of libations as well.
Ornamental details will also abound in accommodations, where notes of navy, copper, and maroon will accentuate original reclaimed wood ceilings from which custom chandeliers will be suspended. Tufted headboards and locally inspired artwork will also serve as focal points.
