TownHouse Hotels has announced the debut of the TownHouse Galleria in central Milan. Designed by architect Massimo Magaldi. The hotel is located within the four-story double arcade of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which was originally constructed between 1865 and 1877 by Giuseppe Mengoni. Two glass-vaulted arcades intersect in an octagonal dome that shelters the street below linking the Piazza del Duomo and the Piazza della Scala.
Its 58 guestrooms and suites offer exquisite interior views of the Milan Galleria’s frescos and mosaic floors. The Seven Stars Galleria suites vary in size from executive to deluxe to the Ottagono presidential suite.
The 5-Star luxury hotel is also home to the Ottagono Lounge & Oyster Bar. The décor boasts luxury fabrics as well as leather sofas and armchairs in the lounge areas. Guests can dine at the large wooden counter, which includes an iced section for raw seafood, or in the corner lounge, which features an intimate table made from the recovered original larch wood from the Galleria’s attics.
