Los Angeles-based independent hotel brand PRG Hospitality Group has announced the newest addition to its portfolio, The Whitley Hollywood, in Hollywood, California. Set to debut in winter 2019 as a 24-key boutique concept, its Old Hollywood-glamor inspired interiors will be crafted by Los Angeles-based firm Martyn Lawrence Bullard across the 1939 Hollywood Regency-style building it will call home.
The lobby of the exclusive property is anchored by a lounge, and a central courtyard garden appointed with seating, dual fireplaces, and a calming water feature, while the guestrooms spread across its two floors will be conceived in a vintage style through glitzy finishes, custom furnishings and retro-like wallpapers.
“Even though I’ve worked almost everywhere in California, the Whitley happens to be my first project in Los Angeles, and since it’s in a neighborhood I once lived in, I have a close fondness for the layered history of the area” Bullard says, founder of the firm. “I’m delighted to be creating something design-wise that honors the city as well as the old Hollywood itself, which is still the backbone of style and economy in Los Angeles.”
