The Residences at Thompson Austin have debuted as an exclusive collection of 17 fully livable residential suites available at nightly rates.
Conceived as a step above traditional suites, the accommodations were crafted by KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group as a sophisticated new guest experience, both spacious and private. The Texan capital also served as a muse for the design.
“We took inspiration from the brutalist style while layering in the lush and arid landscapes surrounding Austin. This style was inspired by a bold, rebellious, and edgy attitude, which informed shapes, aesthetic, patterns, and curated details,” says KTGY associate principal Sara Talleux. “Extended stay residents are exposed to brutalist touches with monolithic accents and materials, while the furniture lends for a spirited, lived-in element.”
Ranging from studios to two-bedrooms that frame the Austin skyline via floor-to-ceiling windows, the Residences span the hotel’s 16th floor complete with their own private entrance and check-in. Intricate layering imbues the suites with richness, comprising black plaster wallcoverings, dark distressed green leather headboards, and cognac desk chairs. Boldly finished mixed metals also accent each room, while concrete countertops in bathrooms are in dialogue with hanging mirrors that double as light fixtures.
