Thompson Hotels has arrived in the Pacific Northwest with the new Thompson Seattle hotel. Seattle-based Olson Kundig developed the 12-story hotel’s architectural design to complement its vibrant downtown location.
Set against the surrounding urban landscape are two solid façades joined by a glass lantern structure that merges the inside and the outside. Minimalist design from Toronto-based Studio Munge and Redmond, Washington-based Jensen Fey harmonize surface finishes using exposed steel and concrete as well as a blend of modern and vintage reclaimed wood furniture and fixtures. Locally sourced artwork, shelving, and lighting span the interiors, paired with mohair textiles and leather.
The property’s 158 midcentury modern-style guestrooms—including eight corner studios and two suites—offer views of the Puget Sound and surrounding Olympic Mountains, and feature rain showers in each of the marble-clad bathrooms.
The hotel includes more than 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, while the signature Huxley Wallace Collective-operated Scout restaurant and Nest rooftop bar and lounge, complete with firepits and accommodating up to 250 guests, capitalize on the expansive views.
