Ennismore’s affordable boutique hotel brand TRIBE has planted its latest flag in the emerging Gare du Nord section of Amsterdam. Boasting a modern and artsy interior by London-based Feix&Merlin Architects, TRIBE Amsterdam City aims to cater to the city’s cultural underground as well as contemporary travelers eager to explore something new. “While each TRIBE proposes a unique experience, they all share in being culturally relevant and strongly connected to the immediate neighborhood’s vibes,” says TRIBE’s deputy brand COO François Leclerc. “TRIBE’s contemporary and bold design redefines urban luxury.”
The 192-room hotel is anchored by an all-day social hub on the main level, which features a lounge area that evolves from a coffee shop by day to a cocktail bar by night. Sleek, unfussy interiors are characterized by openness and round forms that infuse a casual but sophisticated ambiance. Seafoam tones and other vibrant hues enliven classic forms to further perpetuate the modern ethos, while neutral materials allow geometric furniture and a diverse range of artwork and décor to pop. “Contrasted color palettes reinforced with graphic and branded patterns recreates an intense and dynamic atmosphere,” Leclerc adds. Handpicked objets d’art also punctuate accommodations, infusing warmth and promoting serenity. Abstract portraits adorn headboards to provide an artful focal point as well.
