Starwood’s Tribute Portfolio, a collection of independent hotels and resorts, has announced three new singings, expanding the brand’s total portfolio to 20 properties globally. The new properties include the brand’s first Chinese location in Shanghai and two Florida developments in Tampa and Sarasota. The 10th Starwood brand, the year-old Tribute Portfolio is Starwood’s fastest takeoff ever, doubling its initial first-year growth projection.
“The independent hotel segment has continued to grow exponentially, with consumers increasingly desiring travel to hotels and resorts that don’t fall under a cookie cutter brand,” says Dave Marr, Tribute Portfolio’s global brand leader. “This trend, coupled with the strength and support of our owner and developer community, has contributed to the meteoric growth of the brand and its continued success as we enter our second year.”
Since debuting in April 2015, Tribute Portfolio opened four hotels in the U.S. and five more across the UK, Japan, Indonesia, and France. Future properties include locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, and Quebec City.
