Glamping company Under Canvas has announced plans to expand its U.S. footprint in June 2022 with the launch of a camp near Bryce Canyon National Park. Set against the backdrop of Mount Dutton and the Escalante Mountains in southwest Utah, Under Canvas Bryce Canyon will offer an immersive retreat into nature.
“With access to the outdoors more in demand than ever, the launch of our fourth camp in Utah—in a high alpine area offering ideal temperatures for outdoor adventure throughout the spring, summer, and fall—couldn’t be more exciting and timely,” says Under Canvas CEO Matt Gaghen. “The Bryce Canyon area is known for exceptional hiking and biking, beautiful landscapes, ready access to multiple national parks and monuments, and is a natural addition to our Grand Circle of camps.”
Situated at an elevation of 7,600 feet, the forthcoming camp will comprise 50 safari-style canvas tents perched upon elevated decks overlooking juniper forests. Under Canvas will again partner with West Elm to furnish the location’s accommodations as well as public spaces, including the central lobby lounge and expansive outdoor patio. Crafted by the company’s in-house team, space will be designed to maximize open space with a minimal impact to the surrounding landscape.
Each lodging tent will be populated with plush king beds, bedside lanterns, en-suite bathrooms, and wood-burning stoves. Special accommodations will also include the Stargazer Tent, which frames celestial vistas above the bed, and the Hoodoo suite, which spans two tents adjoined by a private deck equipped with a fire pit and an outdoor lounge. Suite tents will also feature a bedroom wing, a lounge anchored by a sofa bed, and an additional luxe tent that houses three twin beds.
