The W Amman has opened, the brand’s first property in Jordan. Located in the emerging downtown neighborhood of Abdali, the hotel is inspired by the energy of the Middle East that also celebrates local history, culture, and tradition from a contemporary angle.
Channeling the beauty of the nearby rock formations of Petra, the hotel welcomes visitors with a striking façade and the signature Living Room, which will function as a clubhouse for guests with low seating, open space, and mood lighting. Modernized versions of traditional patterns punctuate the area along with modern art form artists Jamal A. Rahim and Bader Mahasneh. Additional public spaces include the restaurants Mesh and Enso, as well as the Aura bar, which is crafted with rose stone tones and colorful, silk-like floors. The Wet Deck on the rooftop enhances the pooldeck experience, doubling as a music venue and a design conceived as a modern depiction of the Roman Theater Atrium.
All 236 guestrooms and 44 suites are clad with floor-to-ceiling windows and vivid details like linens are adorned with illustrative interpretations of the Amman skyline. Four Wow suites are featured as well as the 1,710-square-foot Extreme Wow suite, which is outfitted with an in-room DJ deck, an entertainment system, and private Jacuzzi.
The debut of the new property also marks the first hotel collaboration between Marriott International and developer Eagle Hills Jordan. The partnership will yield three additional hotels in Jordan—the St. Regis Amman, the Westin Saraya Aqaba, and Al Manara, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Saraya Aqaba.
