W Hotels Worldwide, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has completed a total renovation of all guestrooms and suites at W Montreal in Quebec.
The 152-room hotel opened in 2004 and sits between the city’s financial district and historic Old Montreal.
“W Montreal’s rooms and suites have been reimagined to reflect the iconic architecture and culture of Montreal,” says Anthony Ingham, global brand leader of W Hotels Worldwide.
Led by Starwood’s in-house design team, the project was predominated by a locally inspired reinterpretation of French neoclassical elements—such as chevron patterns in walnut and brass tables—and Montreal’s underground culture.
Gold accents throughout the hotel’s corridors pay homage to its former life as a bank, while guestrooms are bespoke in white murals referencing Old Port architecture. They feature open-concept bathrooms, and custom wallcoverings with a faux marble print that serve as the background for graphic representations of oversized architectural moldings.
Each room includes low lounge seating; cocktail tables; a bed framed in LED lighting with a black fur throw; and a cocktail corner and freestanding Mix Bar, which features mirroring and yellow accents.
