Following six years of development, Steve Wynn’s Wynn Palace has celebrated its grand opening in Macau. Reveling in an ornate floral theme, the property offers 1,706 guestrooms, suites, and villas clad with bespoke details crafted by Wynn Design.
Guests arrive via SkyCabs that traverse the eight acre Performance Lake, which hosts a lyrical daily fountain show. Wynn himself collaborated with floral designer Presto Bailey on the intricate floral motifs that define the resort. Tens of thousands of live and permanent botanicals are used with embroidered linen, glass, steel, resins, and crystals to reimagine the splendor of amusement parks with fixtures that include a 304-square-foot carousel display and a large Ferris wheel creation.
Wynn Palace houses 200,000 square feet of upscale retail space and more than 26,000 square feet of event space, including four meeting rooms, a private lobby, and the pillarless Grand Theater ballroom for up to 1,200 guests. In addition to saunas, steam rooms, and plunge pools, the 48,403-square-foot Spa at Wynn Palace offers 22 treatment rooms with a private relaxation area, tubs, and water therapy. A salon, fitness center, outdoor pool, and 495,000 square feet of casino space are also located onsite.
The resort features an extensive collection of art, including four porcelain Buccleuch vases from the Qing dynasty, and the massive Tulips, a stainless steel sculpture by Jeff Koons.
An abundance of gourmet onsite dining options include Andrea’s steakhouse, seafood concept SW, contemporary Japanese venue Mizumi, and the intimate Sushi Mizumi. Overlooking Performance Lake, the regal restaurant Wing Lei Palace is clad with an 18th century crystal chandelier, a dramatic touch from Wynn design chief Roger Thomas.
