The El San Juan Hotel will debut in Puerto Rico as part of Hilton’s Curio collection next month. The hotel, which first opened in 1958, will reemerge following a multimillion-dollar renovation from New York-based Jeffrey Beers International and feature a slew of new upgrades.

Included in the overhaul are newly remodeled guestrooms, a new pool with 22 luxury cabanas, modern meeting spaces, new eateries, onsite retail, and a new fitness center and spa facilities. The hotel’s legendary lobby is also updated, embracing its iconic features along with a contemporary look. Guests will be welcomed by a cobblestone plaza and revamped façade, alogn with a custom, 8-foot-tall sculpture by artist Luis Torruella that enhances the arrival experience. Installed in a pool of water, the piece references the relationship that Puerto Rico and the hotel share with music, dance, and nature.

Caña, a new locally inspired restaurant from Puerto Rican chef Juliana Gonzalez will open as well, with additional concepts arriving throughout 2017.
