The Trump International Hotel & Tower New York, the flagship property in Donald Trump’s growing portfolio of Trump Hotel Collection hotels, will commence a $30 million renovation of its 167 guest rooms and suites in January 2010, it announced this month.
Taking place in two phases—encompassing half of the hotel’s rooms from January through April, and half from June through September—the renovation will outfit guestrooms with new furnishings, lighting, fabrics, and wallcoverings.
"As the crown jewel of the Trump Hotel Collection, Trump International Hotel & Tower New York is committed to delivering the best hotel experience available anywhere in the world, and maintaining our luxurious room product is a key part of that," Trump said in a statement. "When completed next Labor Day, the voluptuous fabrics and opulent finishes of the redesign will put us in step with the elegant, classic-contemporary feel of the other Trump Hotel Collection properties."
The Trump International Hotel & Tower New York was the first hotel in the Trump Hotel Collection portfolio, which now includes the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas and the Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk. At least seven other Trump Hotel Collection properties are currently under in development in New York, Toronto, Panama, Dubai, the Dominican Republic, Scotland and New Orleans.
